The process
Four steps to your ceremony.
Complete each stage in order and allow enough time for the legal notice period.
- 01
Enquire & get the form
Contact the mosque office by email to enquire about availability and obtain the marriage application form. Confirm the intended venue and proposed date before giving notice.
- 02
Give notice of marriage
The bride and groom must each give formal notice at the register office for the local authority in which they live, at least 29 days before the proposed ceremony.
- 03
Wait for the notice period
The required 28-day legal notice period must be completed before the marriage can take place. Allow sufficient time and do not leave the process until the last minute.
- 04
Submit documents to the mosque
Send the documents and payment to the mosque. Once everything has been received and verified, the ceremony date will be confirmed.
